Join Hank and Wank & O’Brien as we celebrate survivorship! Cancer
survivors will model for the American Cancer Cociety’s 12th Annual
Fashion Show, “Fashion A Cure” on August 14th at the Murat
Centre.
“Fashion A Cure" will honor local
cancer survivors as they model retro fashions. The event
will
be held
at the Murat Centre in downtown Indianapolis on Thursday,
August 14, 2008.
Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with
a reception and silent auction followed by dinner and
the fashion show. Tickets are now available by contacting
to the American Cancer Society at 317-344-7800.
Individual
tickets are $90 and a corporate table of 10 can be purchased
for $1000. This year’s “Fashion A Cure” will
feature retro styles from a collection of Indianapolis’ premier
boutiques.
The Fashion Show began in 1996 as an occasion to increase
breast cancer awareness and has since grown into a
premier event that celebrates survivors of all types
of cancer. Last year, the event raised $50,000 to benefit
cancer research education, advocacy and services within
Central Indiana.
This year, more than 30,000 Hoosiers
will be diagnosed with cancer and nearly 13,000 will
die of the disease.
Many forms of cancer are survivable, especially when
the disease is detected in its earliest stages. The
fashion show is a vehicle for raising awareness about
the disease and emphasizing the importance of early
detection and screening methods. For more information
