Jessica Harp Turns To Songwriting Exclusively
Country News from 97.1 HANK-FM
3/10/2010

Jessica Harp has announced that she will abandon her singing career to focus on songwriting instead. Harp, who partnered with Michelle Branch to form the Wreckers, posted a letter on her website revealing the news.

"If someone had told me a couple years ago that I'd be sitting here writing you this letter I would've laughed," she said. "But as I've been through so much personally and professionally those last couple of years, and the older I get, I realize more and more how quickly time flies."

Harp also noted that although she is certain of her choice, she has "the heavy heart of a woman who will mourn the closing of a very long chapter in her life."

While with the Wreckers, Branch and Harp penned such hits as "Leave the Pieces," "Tennessee" and "My, Oh My."

Harp also released two solo singles, "A Woman Needs" and "Boy Like Me," after parting ways with Branch.
